Egypt demands all pigs in country to be killed

Published by jans under General Edit This

Fear and misinformation as sparked the most irrational action a modern day government could take. Egypt, out of fear of the “swine flu” has forced all the pigs in that country to be slaughtered. The “swine flu” is not caused by pigs nor is it spread by pigs. There have been no flu cases reported in Egypt yet and the act of the government was not only fool hardy but smacks of “idiot of the month”.

You can read the whole story of how it has taken away the lively hoods of many farmers in that country at the link below.

Published by jans under horses Edit This

Is it foul play? An unknown cause is suspected in the sudden deaths of 21 expensive polo ponies. The horses from the Venezuelan team just dropped dead shortly before they were scheduled to begin their match play tournament during the US Open Polo Championship in Florida this weekend.

Some of the horses dropped dead while quietly grazing while at least 4 died in route to the local vet hospital. The death toll is up to 21 as of Monday morning, April 20, 2009.

Here is the news article.

Speculation in the horse world is that the horses were injected with cleaning fluid but that is a rumor right now. We will see how this pans out in the next week or so.
